Two held with WY tablets worth Rs 6 cr

Imphal, March 21 2020:
Anti-smuggling unit of Customs Division, Imphal, arrested two individuals along with 60,000 WY tablets worth around Rs 6 crore, from MG Avenue traffic point at around 4 pm yesterday.
According to a reliable source, acting on specific information regarding presence of some individuals with a huge quantity of WY tablets in MG Avenue area, a team of anti-smuggling unit of Customs Division, Imphal, intercepted a Bolero jeep near the MG Avenue traffic point.
On checking the vehicles, the security team found 60,000 WY tablets, worth around Rs 6 crore.

The driver was identified as one Najrul Hussain Choudhary (37) s/o Sirajul Ali Choudhary of Uttar Lalpani, Jirighat, Cachar (Assam) while the passenger was identified as Ramajan Husen Barbhuiya (25) s/o Nijam Uddin Barbhuiya of Makhan Nagar Basti, Jiri-ghat, Cachar (Assam).
They were arrested and the drugs and their car were seized.
A case was further registered against the arrested individuals under NDPS Act for taking up necessary actions, the source added.
