UG suspects take away three teens

Imphal, April 17 2012:
Three teenage boys have been taken away by suspected cadres of a UG group for recruitment in the group.
It is reported that three boys who went out from their homes in the morning of April 7 went missing since the day from Sairem village under Lamsang police station of Imphal West district.
Sources identified the missing boys as Chanam Ajoynao alias Shantikumar (15) s/o Manglemjao, Soraisham Naothoibi (15) s/o Shamungou, both belonging to Sairemkhul Polangshoi Maning Leikai and Sapam Suran (15) s/o Naoba of Sairemkhul Kangdabi.
Parents of the missing boys filed a missing report at Lamsang police station.
However, they could not be traced till date.
Speaking to media persons today, mothers of the three missing boys pleaded that their sons be returned to them if they were taken away by any UG group.
They maintained that their sons were too young to join any insurgent outfit.

The three boys went out from their homes to watch a football match at about 11 am of April 7 .
Ajoynao has one brother and a sister.
Naothoibi is the second eldest among three brothers and two sisters while Suran has four younger sisters.
Demanding safe release of the young boys, a protest demonstration was staged today at Sairemkhul Primary School.
Meanwhile, Sairemkhul Polangshoi Women's Welfare Association has geared up to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister to secure safe release of the three boys.
The memorandum demanded safe release of the three boys within seven days as well as punishment of the individuals who took away the boys.
Notably, all the three boys belong to BPL families and they have dropped out from school.
It is suspected that a UG group have taken away the boys to recruit them into the particular group.
On the other hand, one Laishram Pangalba (16) s/o Sushilkumar of Haorang Keiren who was reportedly called out by his friend Yambem Ningthem (18) s/o Megha of Sairemkhul Mamang Leikai in the morning of April 11 has also gone missing.
Ningthem was working as a handyman of a truck.
Pangalba was called out from his home by Ningthem.
