Missing boys raise spectre of child-soldier recruitment fear

With three 15-year old boys, who went missing from their respective homes since April 7, still remaining traceless, apprehension has been raised over the possibility of their recruitment by some UG groups.
Three missing minors identified as Chanam Ajoynao alias Shantikumar alias Inao (15), s/o Ch Manglemjao of Sairemkhul Polangshoi; Sapam Suran (15), s/o S Naoba of Sairem Khul Kangdabi and Soraisam Naothoibi alias Sanjoy (15) s/o Shamungou of Sairemkhul Polangshoi, reportedly went out of their respective homes on April 7 at around 11 am to watch a football tournament at Achongkhuman but did not return home since then.
The family members have filed missing reports to the police but the police have not been able to make any headway in their investigation.
A sit-in-protest was also staged under the aegis of Sairemkhul Polangshoi Women Welfare Association at the premises of Sairemkhul LP School today demanding release of the three minors if any UG group or party is involved in the act.
Taking part in the protest demonstration, family members of the missing boys appealed to the government for help in locating the whereabouts of the boys.
They also appealed to all concerned to release the boys on humanitarian ground.
A memorandum in this regard had also been submitted to the Chief Minister.
The memorandum demanded the state government to take up steps for the immediate release of the three children within seven days time and give befitting punishment to the kidnappers, etc.
