Ukhrul to Kamjong passenger service to resume

Ukhrul, October 13 2020:
The daily passenger service between Ukhrul and Kamjong will start from October 16 under strict compliance of SOP issued by the State Government for Unlock 2 .
Convener of Tangkhul Co-ordination Forum for Covid-19 (TCFC) Tuisem Kamkara said that the daily inter-district passenger service will resume regularly for public convenience and in the interest of the local people.
He informed that a co-ordination meeting was held yesterday at TNL office and after minutely discussing the situation, it was decided to let passenger service resume between the two districts under the SOP issued by the State Government for
Unlock 2 .
Public transportation was earlier banned by TCFC within the jurisdiction of TNL to contain the spread of COVID-19 .
Tuisem mentioned that volunteers deployed at Finch Corner, Ukhrul at the tri-junction highway to check the Covid-19 test result of every individual coming to Ukhrul & Kamjong will stop from October 15 .
On the other hand separate vehicles have been arranged to pick up returnees to Ukhrul from other States of the country.
At the same time, Covid-19 test for every incoming returnees will continue at Bakshi ground Dungrei Hungpung, and all must undergo home quarantine, he added.
The convener also cautioned all the passengers to adhere to the SOP of wearing face mask, maintaining physical distance and to sanitized their hands while travelling in the public transport.
He also asked the drivers timely sanitize their vehicles after their work is over as precautionary measures for the safety of the people.
The convener also expressed gratitude to all the owners of buses and Wingers for honouring the request of TCFC for temporary suspension of passenger services in spite of their economic hardships and difficulties during the crisis.
