Minerals mining banned in the Rilram Maring area

Imphal, October 13 2020:
Rilram Centre village had unanimously resolved to banned and prohibit villages from its jurisdiction to issue any form of No Objection Certificate (NOC) or cooperate agencies/departments related to mass mining (Chromite) in the area it added.
A press statement by presidentof Rilram Area Maring organization (RAMO) Ch Morung said that any attempt to execute minerals mining in the Maring area by the Government is considered a violation of Indigenous people's rights.
RAMO will fight forceful attempts by the Government to mass mining in line with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
