License arms arrive at Police Station from across CCpur

Owners of license guns issued in Churachandpur district have started submitting their firearms at Police Stations located across the district ahead of the by-election in Singngat AC scheduled for November 7 .
Police sources said a total of 20 license guns have been submitted at Behiang PS till date, while the figure for Singngat PS stands at 26.Henglep PS and Sangngaikot PS were also in custody of 4 and 3 license arms respectively.
However, a cumulative figure of Arms License holder within Churachandpur PS jurisdiction given by the police has shown that barely 17 against the total 778 arms issued have been submitted to the police.
761 guns are still at large as of 5pm today.
Besides collecting the arm licenses, the police have on a daily basis seized liquor from various location during their raids as part of their preparation for the by-election.
Meanwhile the district police today reminded the public of the need to wear mask while venturing outside.
They also instructed shop owners to compulsorily wear mask and to effectively ensure the same for their customers, saying strict actions will be taken again those flouting the order.
