World Mental Health Day observed, Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign held

While celebrating the World Mental Health Day, 2020 jointly organized by the District Health Society, District Mental Health Programme, Thoubal and Youth Volunteers' Association (YVA), Wangjing, an awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign was also held by the District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee today.
The function, held at IRE-College of Teacher's Education Complex, Wangjing, was graced by Dr N Jayantakumar Singh, Chief Medical Officer Thoubal, Narengbam Binoy Singh, vice chairperson WLMC and advisor YVA, Wangjing, Dr A Ranita Devi, State Nodal Officer, NMHP, Manipur, Arambam Kames-hwar Singh, District Social Welfare Officer Thoubal, Ch Basanta Singh, District Programme Manager, DHS, Thoubal as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively, while maintaining SOPs of COVID-19.All the members elaborated on the importance of mental health and psychological support during this time of pandemic and also explained the need for raising awareness of mental health issues and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health DSWO/member secy District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee, Thoubal, Arambam Kameshwar introduced the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign and mentioned a wide range of issues and problems related to drug abuse, illicit trafficking, role of parents in prevention of substance abuse and strategies for drug demand reduction in the society.
He further urged all sections of the society to involve in the fight against drug and alcohol abuse.
