Agreement reached

Imphal, October 13 2020:
Representatives of Leimakhong Chingmang and Leimakhong Area Chief Association have reached an agreement over the uproar caused to the desecration of Ema Kounu Lairembi on October 4 .
As per the settlement reached, the representatives of Leimakhong Area Chief Association agreed to apologise to Leimakhong Chingmang in connection with the incident which occurred on October 4 and 8 in which the Temple of Ema Kounu Lairembi was partly damaged.
The representatives of Leimakhong Area Chief Association also agreed to take part in the customary rituals and obligations of Ema Kounu regarding 'Mikou Thakouba' ritual services and bear total expenses.
Both parties also agreed not to repeat such incidents in future.
In case of such incidents, the first offender shall be held responsible.
Both the parties also agreed not to file complaint in any law Court, police and other civil organisations in connection with the incidents.
The MLAs of the two Constituencies concerned will be taking up initiatives, read the agreement.
