Three held with drugs and weapons

Troops of 40 Assam Rifles nabbed three persons with drugs, weapons and incriminating documents between Usoipokpi and Waithou in Thoubal district along Imphal-Moreh highway last night.
Quoting an Assam Rifles' report, a police source informed that troops of 40 AR, D-Coy posted at Lilong seized the illegal items on searching a Hyundai Santro car (MN-04A/5361) in which three persons were travelling at about 9.45 pm.
The apprehended men have been identified as Md Abdur Rehman (21) s/o Abdul Haque of Sangaiyumphal Puleipokpi, his elder brother Md Sher Khan (22) and Md Abash Khan (24) s/o Ayub Khan of Moreh Ward No 5 .
One 9 mm pistol with a magazine containing one live round, five numbers of .303 ammunition, two extortion notes of UPRF, one mobile phone handset, Rs 70,000 in the denomination of Rs 1000 and the car in which they were travelling have been seized.

In addition, 1420 strips of Actione-BR tablets, 18 strips of Anipin tablets, five strips of Actidin tablets, 193 strips of Eudocet tablets were recovered from their possession.
All these drugs are said to have pseudoephedrine components and their price is very high in black markets although they are worth just around Rs 6000 according to the printed price.
All three of them and the items seized from them have been handed over to Lilong police station.
