CM's turf Thoubal district recorded least in terms of votes cast

With Thanlon Assembly Constituency in Churachandpur district recording the lowest turn-out at only 47.14 percent, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi's Thoubal AC was the least in terms of votes cast in the 10 Assembly segments of the district.
With the Chief Minister himself in the fray along with O Indira of the BJP and Ak Manglemjao Singh of the trinamool Congress, 83.27 percent of the total electors exercised their democratic right in the January 28 election out of the district's overall percentage of 88.33. Hiyanglam AC recorded the highest voter turn-out at 92.95 percent in the district, which is also the highest in the State.
Among the four valley districts, Thangmeiband AC recorded the lowest turn out of voters at 77.49 percent while in the five hill districts, Churachandpur district had the lowest turnout at 63.40 percent.
None of the hill districts crossed the 80 percent mark compared to the valley districts where the poll percentage was over 85 percent.
