Imphal, January 31, 2012:
The Naga Women's Union (NWU) and the Naga Peoples' Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) have condemned the use of brutal violence by various armed groups against individuals who preferred to follow their own conscience and exercise their rights to vote during the recently held vote to the Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Conveying deep concern with the way armed groups have been attacking and harming individuals in the hill districts based on political party affiliation which was totally uncalled for, the NWU and the NPMHR have appealed to all groups to immediately desist from engaging in violence that has killed and maimed people.
