NIA raids JNIMS Director's office; check computer use by former director

A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) had raided the office of the JNIMS Director on March 23 afternoon and search the computer set used by former director Mutum Shyamo who was under screening by the team in connection with the case of KCP (Poirei Meitei) leaders who were presently in their custody.
Details of what has been collected by the NIA team could not be ascertained but source said the NIA team had collected some data from the computer which might have some connection with the case.
On January 12, last year, Delhi Police Anti Terror Wing Special Cell arrested Khoirom Ranjit, commander in chief of KCP (Poirei) along with his lady associate Irungbam Sanatombi from a house located in East Delhi, Mayur Vihar area.
Later, the NIA arrested another accused namely Sanabam Inaobi Singh,S/o Late Sanabam Tomal Singh, R/o Yambem Mathak Leikai, PO Yairipok, PS Andro, Distt Imphal East, Manipur on November 29, 2017 from New Delhi in connection with NIA Case No.RC-5/2017/NIA/DLI (KCP Case) dated 16.03.2017 .
A press statement by the NIA had stated that he is a hard core member of KCP, a banned terrorist organization and is found involved in raising terror funds, supply of arms, ammunitions and explosives for KCP cadres.
Earlier on July 10, 2017, the NIA had filed a charge sheet against the commander in chief of KCP (Poirei) Khoirom Ranjit and two other individuals before the Special NIA Court, Patiala House, New Delhi, on July 10, 2017 .
Since then the NIA team has been investigating over the case on the involvement of various people including the former Director of JNIMS Mutum Shamo.
