Chief Minister, O Ibobi is understood to have instructed the state Chief Secretary, DS Poonia, who is the chairman of the Governing Body of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) to put AYUSH and allopathic doctors of the mission in the same pay scale today.
In the intimation (UO No.2/114/2010) written to the chairman, DS Poonia, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that in order to broaden the healthcare delivering system in the state and not to hurt the sentiments of the doctors, both AYUSH and allopathic doctors should be put in equal pay scale.
They should be given similar pay scale, the Chief Minister instructed, a source informed.
The Centre is willing to develop AYUSH method of treating disease in the state under the scheme of NRHM, the Chief Minister noted in his intimation to the Chief Secretary asking him to table the matter at the meeting of the Governing Body.
In complying with the instruction of the Chief Minister, a meeting of the Governing Body of NRHM was held this evening with DS Poonia in the chair.
The meeting reportedly discussed the grounds on why different pay scales are there for the AYUSH and allopathic doctors.
No decision could be taken in this regard, the source said adding that however it was agreed to hold another round of meeting at the earliest and resolve the matter.
