Even as official reports confirmed the increasing number of people affected due to the factional clashes in the interior areas of Tousem subdivision arriving at the district headquarters to seek shelter, sources informed that the bodies of three slain NSCN (IM) cadres have been, brought to Imphal.
OC of Tamei police station informed that the three were killed at a spot in between Khonram and Lamlaba village last night.
Sources said that they were deserters and were killed by the IM group.
The bodies have been deposited at RIMS morgue awaiting identification.
Feeling vulnerable following the clashes between rival factions of the NSCN at Tousem sub-division, more and more affected villagers are leaving their homesteads and are seeking shelter at the relief camps being opened at Tamenglong district headquarters.
Besides Azuram and Chraramba villages from where the deflux began following the bloody clash that has so far reportedly claimed about five lives and an undisclosed number injured, around 85 villagers from Thiulong joined the relief camps at Tamenglong since yesterday evening.
According to the DC of Tamenglong, the displaced villagers have been provided shelter at the relief camps being opened at schools, Church com pounds and Govt offices and more are likely to reach later today.
Some of the displaced villagers are taking refuge with either relatives or friends.
The district authority is extending essential relief material like rice, dal and sugar, said the DC and added the displaced persons are being well taken care of.
