President of Poumai Naga Union resigns

The president of the Poumai Naga Union (PNU) L Soloni Pao, Retd MCS, has resigned from the top post of the union.
Speaking to media persons, the former, president of the union said that he had resigned from the post because of his intention to take enrolment in a political field.
Expressing gratitude to the Poumai community for their unflinching faith reposed upon him and to his executive colleagues in the last two years, he assured that he will continue to work for the welfare of the PNU in future whenever necessary.
The resignation reportedly came after consultation with the advisory board of the PNU.
In place of him, the vice president of the union, SP Lawrence has been elected to be the acting president of the union until the next general assembly, which is scheduled to be held in the last week of March, this year, is conducted.
