Imphal, April 19 2018:
Manipur
Pollution Control Board
(MPCB) Chairman Laishram
Radhakishore today inspected
the waste management system of
RIMS.
Together with RIMS
Medical Superintendent Dr Ch
Arunkumar, Nursing Superin-
tendent Sh Lata and MPCB
officials, Radhakishore made a
direct assessment of different
wards, laboratories as well as the
incineration unit.
Speaking to
media persons, Radhakishore
said that waste management
system at RIMS has improved
considerably as compared to the
preceding years even though the
desired level is yet to be achieved.
Both RIMS and JNIMS would
lose their credibility if the two
institutes do not take proper
care of patients, their griev-
ances are not given due attention
and they are not satisfied by the
services provided by the two
institutes, Radhakishore said.
Proper sanitation, cleanli-
ness and systematic waste
management are also key fac-
tors for winning people's faith.
These are also key parameters
for setting up a hospital, he
said.
Saying that haphazard
disposal of waste can lead to
serious problems, the MPCB
Chairman appealed to all the
staff of RIMS starting from the
Director to attendants to give
due emphasis towards keeping
the hospital neat and clean.
To a query, he said that
there are incinerators in the
State; one each at RIMS,
JNIMS and Shija Hospital.
