National meet on Rural Drinking Water to be held at Delhi

Imphal, February 15 2013:
A 2-day National Consultation on Rural Drinking Water is to be held at New Delhi from February 18 under the aegis of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation to discuss issues related to proper implementation of National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) among others.
According to report received by Hueiyen Lanpao, TM Bijoy, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has served notices to the Principal Secretaries/Secretaries, Rural Drinking Water Supply of all the States including Manipur to attend the National Convention without fail.
They have also been informed to be accompanied by their respective Chief Engineers and Directors of the Water and Sanitation Support Organisaton.
The report further revealed that apart from discussion on implementation of NRDWP, the consultation would also discuss issues pertaining to IEC, works of HRC, Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance Activities and others.
The physical and financial progress of the NRDWP would also be reviewed in detail.
Meanwhile, another source revealed that a 2-day International Conference on Inclusive Urban Planning would also commence from February 18 at New Delhi.
The conference would be organized by Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India and it would be supported by Department for International Development, United Kingdom.
The conference would be part of the Support to National Policies for Urban Poverty Reduction Project.
