Heirok MLA extends financial aid to COVID-19 victims' families

As promised earlier, Heirok MLA Th Radheshyam has extended financial assistance amounting to Rs 50,000 each to families of four people belonging to Heirok assembly constituency who have died due to COVID-19 .
The MLA also assured of providing similar financial assistance to family of another person who succumbed to COVID-19 on Friday.
The financial assistance from the MLA was distributed to the bereaved families in a simple function held at Community Home Isolation Centre opened for Heirok AC on Saturday with strict adherence to government issued SOP to contain the pandemic.
After distributing the financial assistance, MLA Radheshyam said that it is a painful and emotional incident for family members when their loved ones die due to COVID-19 and the financial assistance side was extended to such families to share in their pains and sorrow.
The deceased could not be brought back alive with money but the financial assistance was given to help the bereaved members of such families at least to some extent.
While stating that taking precaution is the best way to prevent COVID-19 as of now, Radheshyam said that detection of 38 positive cases from among 113 people tested during mass testing programme conducted at Ukhongsang on Friday is a sign of wide spread of the pandemic in Heirok AC and hence people need to take utmost precaution to stay away from the virus.
He also said that state government is working at its best level to save precious lives and steps have been taken for mass testing and vaccination for the people of Heirok AC.
He further appealed to people to strictly follow SOPs and COVID-19 appropriate behaviours.
Notably, one of the recipients of MLA's financial assistance namely Moirangthem Ratan of Heirok Keithel Mamang donated Rs 10,000 to the Heirok CHIC in the name of his deceased mother.
