Training programme held

A training programme for the field staff and volunteers who will participated the tiger survey at Tamenglong was held yesterday at Forest Office, Sanjenthong.
Altogether 40 volunteers and field staff participated in the training programme.
Speaking as the chief guest of the event, PCCF (Wildlife) cum Chief Wildlife Warden Manipur, DJN Anand conveyed that the National Tiger Conservation Authority has assured to take up neccesary steps including building 1 or 2 Tiger Reserves in the State if any valid evidences about the presence of the big cat are found in the State.
DFO, Tamenglong, Arun RS and Scientist, Wildlife Institute of India, Satem Longchar also spoke as the resource persons of the event while Chief Conservator of Forest Territorial-II, Kh Brojendro and Chief Conservator of Forest Territorial-I, Th Mohendrapratap attended the event as guests of honour.
The field staff and the volunteers have began their journey for the survey today.
