Madrassa teachers seek clarification

Madrassa teachers have demanded the authority concerned to clarify concerning the supposed order to compulsorily open an account at Indian Overseas Bank, Thangal Bazaar, for the teachers of Madrassa Modernisation teachers under WAQF Board Manipur.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, one of the teachers of Madrassa Modernisation School, Md Nasimuddin said that an advertisement was issued through newspaper for the appointment of necessary teachers to modernise the students studying in 30 Madrassa, on September 7, 2010 .
On September 19, the same year, a DPC was conducted regarding the matter and on November 24, the next year (2011), 150 teachers were appointed on contract basis.The said teachers, who were reverified by the present State Government on May 15 and 24 last year but till date they have not be provided any appointment orders.
However, at such a time, the supposed direction to open an account of every teachers at only Indian Overseas Bank, Thangal Bazaar, and no other banks, is highly illogical and condemnable, he said and demanded the authorities concerned to clarify regarding the matter at the earliest to eliminate the apprehension and confusion among the teachers.
He further urged the Manager of the said bank to aid in the clarification as well.
