TKS conducts surprise visit

Imphal, April 20 2012:
Volunteers of Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (Tangkhul Students' Union) paid surprise visit to 25 Government schools in UKhrul district on April 17 and 18 and found that most schools are not functioning properly due to the lack of infrastructures.
The inspection team also came to know that the facilities given by the government are not receiving properly by most of the schools.
Moreover, most of the school headmasters and teachers were found missing from the schools during the surprise visit.
In order to improve the quality of education, the student body has drawn the attention of the department concerned for taking up necessary measures.
Furthermore, the student body has asked all the SMDC chairmen and schools headmaster of the schools visited to be present in the meeting convened on April 25 at 11am, at TKS Headquarter and warned that strict action would be taken if anyone found to be absent.
It is said that the surprise visit to govt schools would continue.
