Imphal, March 15 2014 :
"I was asked only about money and nothing else while I was held captive for 24 hours in KCP Lallumba's custody", said entrepreneur Santosh Prasad, who was kidnapped by some suspected cadres of KCP (Lallumba) in December last year.
Talking to media persons, Santosh Prasad said that he was abducted by some unidentified persons while he was returning to his Keirang residence under Heinang Police Station in a Maruti car on December 3 last year.
He was then taken on gun-point to some unknown place, where he was held captive.
The abductors repeatedly asked him how many crores of rupees he could give as ransom and how much money he had.
He was also forced to sign on non-judicial stamp stating that he was willing to give away all his properties including the house to them, the entrepreneur disclosed.
The abductors thrashed him severely and also threatened to kill him.
They even asked him to call up his wife to bring all their cash and jewelleries to the place where he was being detained.
However, the police launched intense search operations to find out his whereabouts.
He was abducted in full public view in broad daylight by the armed miscreants.
The police ultimately cracked down the abductors and rescued him on December 4 the following day of his abduction, he said.
But, the ordeal did not end there.
Some persons claiming to be KCP Lallumba cadres repeatedly threatened to kill him over the phone.
They even pressured him to withdraw the police complaint.
Owing to such hardship, he fled to other states and took refuge there, Santosh told media persons.
Unfortunately, the KCP Lallumba Group, in a press statement, branded him as a drug and arms smuggler which is totally baseless and unfounded, he said.
Santosh further told media persons that he was born and brought up in Manipur.
He took his mother's name "Son Domento" and studied at Don Bosco High School.
He then moved out of the State for some years for his further studies.
He could earn some money only by working at call centres outside Manipur.
He had not done any business nor any contract work here in the State, he clarified.
