Itomba attempts Guinness Record

With his eyes set firmly on the Guinness Book of World Records, 22 year old Maibam Itomba performed an extra-ordinary physical stunt of 16 pull-ups within 30 seconds using only his little fingers.
Itomba gave his performance before a panel of jury and audience at SAI North East region complex, Takyelpat.
The event was jointly organised by Brilliant Club, Uripok Naoremthong and Luxus Pioneer Committee.
Itomba is the youngest of six siblings born to Maibam Churamani and Chandrasakhi.
For Itomba, today's performance was his second attempt for a Guinness Book of World Records.
He gave his first performance on October 14, 2012 at JN Dance Academy.
Then, he was able to do 20 pull-ups within 30 seconds but he could not find a place in the Guinness book of World Records because there were certain flaws in the way he did the pull-ups.
Speaking to media persons today, Itomba said that he is confident of winning a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
"This time, the manner of pull-ups strictly conforms to the guidelines given by the Guinness Book of World Records," Itomba said.
Itomba is a sports enthusiast since childhood.
He won silver medal in the National Junior Weightlifting Championship held at SAI Imphal in 2007 .
After this, his father expired and he was forced to earn his own livelihood.
Itomba's second attempt at Guinness Book of World Records was watched by AMBA president Advocate Khaidem Mani, Assistant Revenue Commissioner M Goura, SAI NERC Director Dr Subash Basumatary, INC Technical Director N Binod, Bar Council Member Advocate Kh Iboyaima as jury members.
