4 months training prog kicks off

Imphal, May 12 2018:
State Planning Board Deputy Chairman as well as Chairman of Manipur Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation, S Rajen inaugurated a four-month long technical training programme on Craft: Carpet weavers" at Salam village, Imphal West today.
Speaking on the occasion, S Rajen said that such training will provide a source of income for the trainees and weavers.
Lauding the Development Commissioner (handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, GoI and Carpet Export Promotion Council for taking up the programme, the Chairman appealed the trainees to seize the opportunity and gain maximum knowledge and skills.
He further said that, if the trainees take up new ventures, not only for self employment but also to create working avenues for others, it will be a great success for imparting such training.
Appealing all trainees to be punctual and diligent during the training programme, he stated that the attendance of the trainees will be monitored on daily basis.
Awangkhunou Zilla Parishad Member N Pramo Devi, Awangkhunou Gram Panchayat Pradhan Th Dwijamani Singh, State Awardee Th Sumita Devi and Assistant Director (Handicrafts), MSEC Imphal M Sanjeev Kumar also attended the inaugural programme.
Altogether 20 trainees are attending the training programme.
