'Congress fails to fulfil its promises'

Imphal, July 08 2013:
State President of Janta Dal (United) M Tombi has categorically stated that the Congress Party has failed to fulfil its promises made to the people.
He was addressing media persons at the office of JD (U) Manipur State Unit, Babupara here today.
Tombi said that the Congress Government had made a firm assurance to the farmers to make available all required fertilizers at subsidized rates, but the fertilizers could not be availed even at the end of this agricultural season.
The poor farmers of the State are greatly affected by the false promise of the Government.
The incapability of the Congress Party would cause heavy toll in the agricultural output of the State, he noted.
The State President further pointed out that the Government's announcement of opening some filling stations on 24X7 services cannot be materialized.
Moreover, the Sewerage Project which has been going for quite a long time in Imphal area could bear nothing except deteriorated roads with large potholes, Tombi added.
He also demanded the State Government to set up the National Highway Protection Force and ensure safety to drivers and passengers along the vulnerable National Highways of the State.
Tombi further appealed to the Government to take up concrete measures to prevent frequent bandhs and blockades and also ensure availability of drinking water to the public.
