Exploiters of education will not be spared: Okendro

State Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro on Saturday said that the State Government will take strict action against those who are trying to exploit and commercialize education in the State.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the inaugural function of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya at Mayang Imphal Konchak.
Okendro further said that the State Government has taken up several schemes and programmes to bring about quality education in the State.
On the issue of non-receipt of admit cards by about 2000 students of some CBSE schools in the State, Education Minister said that the State Government takes such issue seriously and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against those erring teachers who are now absconding.
Anybody who tries to exploit and commercialize education in the State will not be spared, Okendro warned.
He further said that 11 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas have been established across the State to provide education to girls belonging to socially and economically backward families.
Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar, who attended the inaugural function as President, announced that the State Government has taken up necessary works to set up a district hospital near the Vidyalaya, and it is also planning to construct a Judo stadium at Mayang Imphal area.
The inaugural function organized by Sarva Shikshya Abhiyan (SSA), Manipur State Mission Authority, was also attended by Secretary of Education (S) H Deleep and Councillor of Mayang Imphal Municipal Council W Tomba as Guests of Honour.
