Awareness prog held, AYUSH medicines, edibles distributed

Under the aegis of AYUSH Directorate, MPP Bishnupur District Committee president Nongmaithem Imocha, Kumbi Kendra Development Committee (KKDC) president and Haotak Social Development Club jointly organised an awareness programme on COVID-19.Health experts who attended the programme alerted the gathering that the third wave of COVID-19 may affect children widely.
Later, immune booster Arsenicum Album-30 and AYUSH 64 tablets were provided to 670 people free of cost.
ACONITE 30 and Arsenicum Album 30 provided by department of AYUSH to protect people from COVID-19 were distributed by Imphal East District United Clubs Organisation (IEDUCO) to clubs operating under the jurisdiction of United Ching-Tam Clubs' Association (UCCAN) like Morning Star Club of Yumnam Patlou, Pukhao Naharup Youth Club and Dolaithabi Youth Club.
According to a statement of IEDUCO, the AYUSH medicines were distributed to around 600 people residing under the jurisdiction of the three clubs.
AMUCO executive member Inaocha, IEDUCO vice presidents Khwairakpam Orendro Meitei and Y Kareng, general secretary Tensubam Kalachan, publicity secretary Puyam Ingocha Khuman, finance secretary Huyam Khoikhoi, secretary (organisation) Nimai, and executive members Joseph Kom and Sh Thoithoiba attended the distribution functions.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur and All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) distributed rice to 378 families settling in several villages in Kangpokpi, Imphal East and Imphal West districts on Tuesday.
COVID-19 situation in the state has improved a little but people belonging to economically weak section continue to face hardship as they could not go out to earn money, the bodies said in a statement, adding that they will continue to help poor people and provide rice in consultation with local clubs, Meira Paibi and volunteers.
Lilong Apunba Meira Paibee Lup (SALIMPAL) helped the organisations during distribution of rice at Thongju Boroi Makhong in Imphal West district on Tuesday wherein 62 families benefitted while Imphal West District United Clubs' Organisation helped in the distribution at Lamphel Yaipha Leikai Kuki Church wherein 15 families were provided rice.
Rice was also distributed at Takyel Khongbal Maning Leikai wherein 15 families living in rented houses benefitted.
Kanglei Senmitlon Yokhat Lup and womenfolk of Lamlongei Makha Leikai also helped the organisations in distributing rice to 40 families in Lamlongei under Lamshang assembly constituency.
In Imphal East district, volunteers of Gold Star Club assisted the organisations in distribution of rice at Yumnam Khunou Awang Leikai while Students' Club joined hands in distribution of rice at Yumnam Khunou Makha Leikai.
Ishing Chaibi Youth Club and Ishing Chaibi Mapal Youth Club took part in distribution of rice in Ishing Chaibi Kongpal and Ishing Chaibi Mapal While Khunomphai Youth Club helped the organisations in distribution of rice at Khunomphai in Kangpokpi district.
Lairok Youth Club and Sinam Kom Youth Club also helped the organisations in distribution of rice in Lairok and Sinam Kom villages respectively.
