Imphal, August 31 2021:
While cautioning Kuki Inpi Moltan Lhang, Keithelmanbi against any attempt to suppress the rights of Ichum Keirap Kom Village Authority, Federation of Haomee (FH) likened the Inpi's declaration of expelling an Ichum villager to a donkey barking instead of a dog.
In a release, FH publicity secretary Dr Leisemba Mangang recalled that few days back, Kuki Inpi Moltan Lhang levelled baseless charges against former Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) co-convener Chungkhohao Hmangte and expelled him from Ichum Keirap Kom village, although the Inpi has no right to do so.
Kuki community has no business to meddle in an intra-village dispute of Ichum Keirap.
Kom is an aborigine community (having Yek-Salai) albeit with a small population and no one should threaten them in any manner, it asserted.
FH mentioned that Kuki Inpi Moltan Lhang has no right to pass judgement on the WhatsApp message written by Chungkhohao Hmangte on February 21.Chungkhohao has full right to seek the help of law over illegal trespassing, attack and vandalising of his house.
The Inpi must know that the Federation will always stand with its indigene brothers, it also emphasised.
FH stressed that Kuki Inpi Moltan Lhang must repeal its boycott of Chungkhohao at the earliest, otherwise the migrants settled in Ichum Keirap Kom village will face boycott.
It will not allow any suppressing of rights of Ichum Keirap Kom VA or its chief.
If any harm befalls upon Chungkhohao Hmangte with regard to the case, then all the responsibilities should be borne by Kuki Inpi Moltan, it further stated.
