Sit-in protests tirade against CM by MPCC secretary

Heingang United Clubs Organisation (HUCO), an apex body of 12 clubs of Heingang assembly constituency, and Heingang Development Committee (HDC) organised a sit in protest at Ibudhou Marjing Laibung, Heingang Mayai Leikai on Tuesday denouncing Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) secretary P Sarat for his alleged libellous remark against chief minister N Biren.
Interacting with media persons at the protest venue, HUCO secretary S Tondang asked Sarat to be sincere if he wants to contest the election and to refrain Irom provoking political mudslinging based on his figment of imagination.
He questioned Sarat about his activities for the welfare of Heingang people and said that he should not pose hurdle to the development works being taken up by the CM.
Raising objection against a statement made by P Sarat, who alleged that CMs workers are indulging in bribefy for the IRB recruitment, Tondang said that the allegation has no ground and HUCO strongly condemns such baseless charges.
Demanding Sarat to bring out proof to back his allegation, he said that Heingang people might boycott him (Sarat) if he continues to level such baseless allegations against the CM.
HDC president W Jiten said that Heingang assembly Constituency is witnessing a new trend of development under the leadership of CM Biren.
However, Sarat has been criticising the CM which could demoralise the people of the AC, he opined and demanded proof of corruption by CM's workers within five days while threatening to boycott Sarat in Heingang AC in case of failing to do so.
Later, the protesters carried out a rally up to the house of P Sarat at Heingang Mayai Leikai and submitted a memorandum to him.
