State records lowest TPR in 75 days; one dies

The state on Tuesday recorded lowest daily positivity rate in 75 days as government bulletins reported one death case and 382 new positive cases out of 4360 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 8.76 per cent against 8.89 per cent recorded on Monday.
Tuesday's positivity rate is the lowest after June 17 which recorded 8.41 per cent.
The active caseload rose to 3397 out of which 1156 (34.03 per cent) are in home isolation, 962 (28.32 per cent) in CHICs, 715 (21.05 per cent) in CCCs and 564 (16.60 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 116 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 185 on oxygen support and 47 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS, Hand Hospital and LFS Covid Treatment Centre though these facilities have 169, 38 and 13 patients respectively.
At the same time, 17 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Tuesday evening, 490 beds including 83 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Monday evening 2840 beds were available in different CCCs, and 299 beds (19 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 84,533 positive cases and 1408 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month saw an addition of 15,434 new cases and 226 fatalities out of which 2335 new cases and 23 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 382 new positive cases included 374 people (188 male & 186 female) from among the general population and 8 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (4), JNIMS (38), District Hospitals (233) and other testing centres (107) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (66), Imphal West (149), Thoubal (17), Bishnupur (28), Kakching (31), Ukhrul (11), Churachandpur (27), Chandel (5), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (15), Jiribam (1), Noney (2), Pherzawl (5) and Kangpokpi (16).The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported one Covid-19 death in the last 24 hours.
The lone victim was a resident of Bishnupur district and she had not received Covid vaccine.
The cumulative number of deaths in the state has now reached 1782 .
In the last 24 hours, 324 patients were discharged from home isolation (152), RIMS (6), NIMS (6), CCCs (105) and CHICs (55) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,13,933 (general population - 1,09,816 and CAPF personnel - 4,117) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,08,754 (general population - 1,04,664 and CAPF personnel - 4,090) and number of active cases is 3,397 (general population 3,375and CAPF personnel- 22).The recovery rate is 95.45 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1355 D-type and 307 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Only 4582 vaccine doses were administered on Monday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 11,86,702.Out of them 3,37,706 have received both doses of vaccine though there are 4,22,872 individuals eligible to get the second shot.
Meanwhile, only five positive cases were detected out of 100 samples in Kakching district on Tuesday.
One case was detected at Jivan Hospital and four at government RAT site.
All are residents of Kakching district, according to DSO Kakching Dr Kesho.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (38,565), Imphal East (25,342), Thoubal (9140), Churachandpur (9601), Kangpokpi (2628), Tamenglong (3125), Bishnupur (8706), Senapati (2066), Ukhrul (2269), Kakching (6202), Chandel (2163), Noney (994), Tengnoupal (1013), Jiribam (996), Kamjong (709) and Pherzawl (414) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (590), Imphal East (419), Thoubal (163), Churachandpur (153), Kangpokpi (56), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (183), Senapati (7), Ukhrul (27), Kakching (110), Chandel 33), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does hot match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.
The state health authority is not willing to provide district-specific case status despite repeated request from media.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 36,717 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,506 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,90,418 tests per million population against the national average of 3,73,663 TPM.
Case fatality rate comes down to 1.56 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 4360 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 8.76 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity comes down to 9.40 per cent.
