BJP supports Naga peace process : Gadkari

BJP president Nitin Gadkari has stated that the party is sympathetic and supports the ongoing Naga peace process.
Speaking to media persons on his meeting with UNC leader at Hotel Classic today, Nitin said that the UNC leaders talked about the ongoing dialogue process to which he assured that BJP would support all efforts towards ushering in peace.
The UNC delegates who called on the BJP president included UNC vice-president PS Warngam, general secretary Gaidon Kamei, information secretary M Milan and vice-president of the Committee for Alternative Arrangement Asinpou Gangmei.
As decided between the Union Home Ministry and the UNC, the next round of tripartite talk involving the Government of Manipur would be held on August 31 at New Delhi.
The State Cabinet has already agreed to take part in the tripartite talk.
On being asked about the exodus of North East people particularly students from many cities of mainland India, the BJP president maintained that there is no more threat or unrest in these cities.
He also appealed to all the students and professionals to go back to the cities where they were staying.
As for the restive situation which gripped many southern cities of India last week, Nitin Gadkari put the onus on the Congress party.
It was a result of vote bank politics pursued by the Congress party, asserted the BJP leader.
BJP would ensure that all citizens belonging to the North Eastern States can travel and reside in any part of the country.
In the BJP-ruled State of Karnataka, North East people are absolutely secure and an live freely in peace devoid of any kind of discrimination and enjoy the fruits of development in the IT and other sectors of industry.
Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has assured that no incident of violence has been reported in Bangalore or in any other town in the State and police protection was being provided to those who asked for it.
Most of the people seeking to leave said that had no direct experience of threat or violence against them, Gadkari asserted.
Quoting the Karnataka Chief Minister Gadkari stated, "Karnataka belongs to all who are living there.
Karnataka is safer than Assam.
Nobody should panic or succumb to the rumour mongering" .
