Drugs worth Rs 3 lakhs seized

Spasmo Proxyvon capsules worth around Rs 3 lakhs sent through India Post have been seized by a team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) .
Speaking to media persons today NAB OC Inspector RK Bikramjit said that they received a specific tip off about presence of SP capsules in a consignment which reached the general head office at Imphal.
Acting on the tip off, police prepared to conduct a raid at the post office starting from 10 am yesterday.
With due permission of the CJM, Imphal West and after showing the Court's order to the Post Master, some personnel conducted raid at the post office today.
In the course of the raid, two cartons containing SP capsules and wrapped with black polythenes in the form of parcel were found.
Each of the carton contained 20 polythene bags filled with 1500 numbers of SP capsules which means the two cartons contained 60,000 number of SP capsules.
The value of these capsules would be around Rs three lakhs in the grey market, said OC Bikramjit.
The consignment was sent by Rakesh Sharma of 71 BRB, Basu Road, Kolkata-700001 on August 19 and it was addressed to SK Shoes, BT Road, Paona Bazar.
However, the addressee of the consignment could not be located at Paona bazar.
Nevertheless, further investigation is on, said Bikramjit.
Notably, Special Intelligence Unit of Imphal West District Police seized 20,676 numbers of SP capsules from the same Post Office on August 22.A day earlier, the same SIU team seized Robocoff tablets worth around Rs eight lakhs from Airport Road.
