Plan for 1.50 lakh pre-paid meters by December

CM O Ibobi while speaking on power demand in the ongoing Manipur State Assembly Session on Wednesday said that there is plan to keep 1.50 lakh electric pre-paid meters in different parts of the State by December.
CM who also holds the Power portfolio was answering to the questions brought up by many MLA's confirmed that the work on keeping pre-paid meters in different parts of the Imphal city is going on and the work will also be extended to District Headquarters and Sub-Divisional Headquarters.
Discussion is going on to keep pre-paid meters in Ukhrul and Churachandpur district Head Quarters since these two are heavily populated.
Adding that less electric consumption LED has been used in street lamps the CM also said using pre-paid meters has forced consumers to avoid using unnecessary electricity and has increased in collection of taxes.
Answering the questions of MLAs on veterinary issue, Veterinary Minister Govindas Konthoujam said that there is a plan to take up Animal Health Monitoring System in the State.
Proposal has been sent to establish Piggery Breeding Center at Andro.
Around nine Mobile Veterinary Clinics has been planned to activate in the districts.
Saying that demand of milk has been high in the state, the Minister said plan will be made to start functioning of poultry firm of Khumbong.
The House also passed bills after discussing many demands.
Amount of demands that were passed include, Rs.20,01,81,000 for Demand No 13 � Labour and Employment; Rs.95,12,10,000 for Demand No 18 � Veterinary; Rs.526,11,14,000 for Demand No23 � Power; Rs.273,94,19,000 for Demand No 44 � Social Welfare; Rs.46,38,52,000 for Demand No 45 � Tourism and Rs.20,95,58,000 for Demand No 48 �Disaster Management.
