Moreh meet reaffirms Zo re-unification

A slow and peaceful means would be adopted to achieve reunification of the Zomis spread throughout the length and breath of Myanmar, India, and Bangladesh, one of the resolutions adopted during a day-long celebration of 68th Anniversary of United Nations Day 2013-cum- Zo Re-unification Organisation (ZoRO) convention organised by ZoRO Northern Zone at Galngam Lentol, Moreh in Chandel district today.
The event which reportedly marked the 120th anniversary of Chin-Lushai Conference at Fort William, Calcutta was held under the theme of 'Salvation for the Zo people' .
Six (6) artistes and cultural troupes from outside Manipur, namely Mizoram, Barak Valley of Assam, Tripura, Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh, Chin state and Kachin state of Myanmar were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, President of the ZoRO, General headquarters R.Thangmawia said, the organisation has completed twenty five years of its establishment, during which it participated in various sessions and meeting under the auspices of UN Working Groups on Indigenous People and the ZoRO has been got recognition by the UNs Working Groups on Indigenous People in the year 2000 .
Highlighting his point, he said that various International Activities of ZoRO broached the possibilities of unification of the Zomis, and asserted that Zomis have the rights to undo the British policy of division and disintegration.
" Zo people living within Mizoram are now trying to make a home for all Zo people around the world and the organisation clearly understands that this could be achieved with the mighty support of India Government", the President added.
