Senior Sub editor of The Sangai Express (English edition) Satyajit Usham has been included among 75 journalists selected from across the country, to take part in the 12th annual congress of the International Federation of Environmental Journalists (IFEJ), to be held at New Delhi from October 28 to 30. The theme of the congress is 'Bridging North-South Differences in reporting Climate Change : Journalists' Role in Reaching an Ambitious Agreement at COP 15 in Copenhagen'.
Supported by Denmark, the COP15 host country and the Society of Environmental Journalists in the US, the 12th Congress of IFEJ is to be hosted in collaboration with Forum of Environmental Journalists of India (FEJI) and CMS Academy of Communication and Convergence Studies, New Delhi.
The Congress, which will be held concurrently with the 5th CMS Vatavaran-Envi ronment and Wildlife Film Festival, will also be followed by field trips to Leh in Ladakh to explore issues centering around melting of Himalayan glaciers and its implication as well as to drought and flood prone regions of the country to study the impact of climate change.
