Kangpokpi, May 05 2015 :
Even as KSO, Sadar Hills has postponed its proposed 24-hour total bandh, which was earlier proposed to start from the midnight of May 6 till May 7 midnight in view of the scrutiny for ADC elections, the All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has pledged support to the bandh.
Thangminlen Kipgen, president of KSO Sadar Hills, said that as the scrutiny for the upcoming ADC elections would be held on May 7, the total bandh would now commence from the midnight of May 7 .
He said that although KSO-SH respects and honours the Government's constructive policies, they would not tolerate its communal attitude.
Even after the situation has gone from bad to worse, the Government still remains silent on the Moidangpok incident.
Nobody has been nabbed so far in connection with the incident, he said and added that no action has also been initiated against the police team and the ASI who did not protect the van driver from a group of violent people at Moidangpok.
He added that even the misery of the critically injured driver has not been addressed to.
No assistance from the Government has come till date.
He added that claiming parts of L Tangnuam village as the land of Koutruk village is a communal approach of Ibobi-led State Government.
As such, L Tangnuam villagers would never provide land for the construction of Cultural University, he added.
He also demanded the Centre to impose President's rule in Manipur.
Meanwhile, ATSUM has pledged support to the KSO, Sadar Hills sponsored bandh.
It expressed grave concern over the Moidangpok incident and land allotment for Cultural University at L Tangnaum village.
ATSUM president Emboi Serto said that the State Government has intentionally failed to address the grievances of tribal people.
