The idea for the promotion of private ownership (capitalism) took roots with the advent of British colonial rule in Manipur and there is a need to look for alternative ideas observed Bharatbushan.
An alternative idea, Bharatbushan added, does not mean to shift from Congress to BJP in the electoral politics and the alternative ideas should be about how the society should be and the values that have to be uphold for collective existence.
Chinglen Meisnam, introducing the book, observed Burns began his career as journalist and later on became a philosopher.
Burns noted 'Marxism is a general theory of the world in which we live, and of human society as a part of that world.
They set out to discover why human society is what it is, why it changes, and what further changes are in store for mankind' .
On the contrary, majority of Manipur's intellectuals strives for proximity with the power of the State.
In such a scenario, the translated text of Emile Burns will serve as the people's weapon to fight against the oppressive nature of the State noted Chinglen.
