Imphal, August 31 2010:
Opposition leader and former Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam today calls for support to developmental works taken up by the government cutting across the political party line, addressing the gathering at the Zero Garbage Campaign held at Imphal Major Khul Community Hall.
Without the supports of the people and political parties, no developmental works could be taken up successfully, said the NCP, state unit president adding that if the political parties in the opposition should extend support in taking up developmental projects and welfare programmes if its were implemented in the true spirit of benefiting the people.
It will not be possible if the political parties in the opposition do not support to the works taken up by the government on the ground that the works is being taken up by the rival party.
"Only criticism will not bring development in the state," he opined.
Radhabinod also appealed the councilors of the suspended Imphal Municipal Council to come out and participate in the campaign considering that it was for the people and not for the government credibility.
Their annoyed can be settled in consultation with the government and rectify what was the wrong thing in functioning the council when the elected members are in power, he added.
