'Teachers are social engineers': ADM Joseph Pauline

Senapati, August 29 2014 :
"Educators are of paramount importance to transform the students of today to the pillars of tomorrow.
Teachers are the social engineers to mould the citizens for the fast development of the Nation" .
This was stated by Senapati ADM Joseph Pauline while speaking as chief guest on the occasion of Teachers' Orientation Training of the Senapati district private schools.
During the inaugural function of the training, the Joseph also said, "Teachers must possess an aptitude to teach acquiring high standards of professional and ethic behavior and a good role model in and out of the classroom" .
Mentioning the role of education in the modern world, the Chief Guest pointed out that education is the way to liberate the mind and soul of a person.
Lamenting on the wrong notions of the trend of education, he stressed, "The present education system tends to promote competition among the pupils instead of developing their attitude, more focused on scoring marks rather than building concepts".
The orientation programme under the theme "Our Teachers Our Resources" was held at the DRDA hall, Senapati.
The two-day orientation programme attended by 89 teachers from 28 schools across Senapati district began on August 28 .
During the inaugural function, eminent leaders of NPO, student leaders from different communities of MKS, PNTM and MSU were present to support the endeavors of the Senapati district Apex students' organization.
Well qualified educationist were the resource persons to facilitate the orientations, including W.A Shishak, Chief Justice (Retd.), Fr.Abraham Lotha, Ph.D, Principal, St.
