Meet your leaders : Youth put up charter of points

Repeal of AFSPA; passing and enforcing strong Lokpal and Lokayukta Bill to contain corruption; introducing youth friendly policies for their all round development � education, sports, and employment; ensuring the safety and protection of women and children and setting up fast track court in every district and to give more power to the Hills Autonomous District Council for better development of tribal are among the top 13 demands from the youth of Manipur to political parties' representatives.
The demands were adopted and submitted during a State event called 'Meet your Leaders' organised by Young Men's Christian Association and Bosco Mangaal as part of My Space, My unManifesto campaign � a nationwide campaign Initiated by ComMutiny � the Youth Collective, New Delhi, at Songel CC Hall, Churachandpur today, a statement issued by Misao Hejang Hangmi, Coordinator, unManifesto campaign, CYC Hubs, North East Region informed.
The event was organised with the objective to create a platform where youth have possible influence on party manifestos by engaging different political party representatives in dialogue and presenting the top 10 young people's manifestos to them which are collected from different places.
The people's representatives that received the top 12 youth unManifesto are: Kim Gangte, MP candidate of Trinamool Congress; C Doungel, MP candidate of NCP and Lien Gangte, MP candidate of JD (U).
The sitting Congress MP Thangso Baite failed to turn up.
Among others, the other demands included making 40 % seat reservation for youth in the State Assemblies; to set up library centre and sport academy in every block headquarters; to improve transportation facilities like road, bridges etc in rural areas for better connectivity and development.
It also included provision for full education scholarship for the economically poor students for higher/professional studies; providing job oriented vocational training centres at block level; to ensure regular power supply both in urban and rural areas and to make the health centres functional and ensure regular attendance of doctors and nurses with ambulance services and free medicines supply.
The North East region's top 10 demands will be taken to the National Coalition Event on March 28 in New Delhi and presented to all the national political parties.
