Imphal, September 14 2016:
The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) has demanded that the Principal of Gulmohor Yoga and Naturopathy Research Academy, Langol, return the stolen amount of Rs 22,080, meant for two students' ST scholarships otherwise they will take firm action.
The two students had submitted their SBI account numbers in their application for ST scholarships.
With that information, the Principal defrauded the two students by opening two bank accounts at the Allahabad Bank, Porompat, in names without their consent later withdrew the money.
When the two students contacted the Principal for the scholarship, the Principal threatened them, charged the student body.
Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Imphal Branch is questioning the process behind which the Porompat Branch of Allahabad Bank allowed the Principal to open two bank accounts without informing the two students.
Legal action may be initiated if no clarification is provided, warned Kuki Students' Organisation.
