Lamka, August 05 2014:
Denying any involvement in the killing of Nengzamuan alias Nicolas by some unknown persons on July 28 last, Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) today made clarification on the unfortunate incident.
While noting that Nicolas had joined the ZRA in 1998 and served for the Zo nation, the clarification said he was misled and misguided by some self-centred politicians during 2012 Election.
ZRA recalled that Nicolas was suspended on April 17, 2012 and subsequently terminated on June 23, 2012 for his act of insubordination and raising mutiny within the rank and file of ZRA.
The press clarification also claimed that Nicholas fled with 17 weapons along with 18 cadres on June 17, 2012 at Kangkap village, under Singngat Sub-division of Churachandpur district, and all the weapons and cadres were apprehended and jailed by the Indian security forces for their violation of SoO ground rules.
ZRA further mentioned that 15 cadres, however, returned to their parent organisations, while 3 cadres including Nicholas failed to return.
ZRA was surprised to learn that Nicholas was the Defence Director of Zomi Revolutionary Front (ZRF/KNO) faction, the statement continued, while stating that it is no wonder ZRA is wrongly accused in the unfortunate murder of Nicholas since he is a ZRA deserter.
However, it went straight to declare that ZRA has no involvement in this tragedy.
