CCpur cops impound local malt

Barely a week into observing August as anti-liquor month, Churachandpur police have already impounded a huge quantity of liquor, including over 300 buckets of locally brewed malt, as they continue surprise raids almost on a daily basis, reports our Lamka correspodent.
Since the launching of the campaign, police have seized huge quantity IMFL and beer cans nearly on a daily basis.
SP K Kabib led a po-lice team to make a record haul as they raided Kumu-zamba Meitei Leikai last night.
They seized three truck loads of locally brew-ed malt in over 300 buckets from about three houses, according to the police.
The seized items were disposed off along with a huge quantity of yeast recovered during the raid.
