Martyrs' Day to be observed at Silchar

Silchar, August 05 2014:
Pari Puri Athouba Ningsing Lup, Assam (PPANLA) and All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) would be jointly observing the 123rd Martyrs Day at Silchar District Library Auditorium on August 13 with a colorful programme including offering of floral tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Anglo-Manipur War 1891 for the independence of motherland.
Speaker Manipur Legislative Assembly Th.Lokeshore Singh, PWD & Transport Minister Dr.Kh.
Ratankumar Singh and Editor of Freedom R.K.Ranendrajit will grace the observance as chief guest, distinguished guest and special guest respectively.
A press release jointly signed by P.Nilkanta Singha, general secretary of AAMSU and K.Gulapi Singha, president of PPANLA said that on the following day of the Martyrs' Day observance on August 14, Manipur Speaker will lay the foundation stone for a two-storeyed guest house building at Shree Shree Govindajee complex, Malugram Silchar, while PWD and Transport Minister Dr.Kh.
Ratankumar Singh will lay the foundation stone of a commemoration pillar of the Martyrs of Anglo-Manipur War 1891 at Joypur Mayai Leikai on the same day.
