Imphal, August 01 2012:
The Deputy Commissioners of Senapati district, Manipur and Phek district of Nagaland held a meeting at Mao Gate today and discussed about the land dispute between Tungjoy village of Manipur and Khenjakheno village of the neighbouring State.
Senapati DC Pradip Kumar Jha and his Phek counterpart Nikeshe Sumi during their meeting over the border row agreed on certain points, informed a source.
The DCs agreed to pacify the villagers on both sides of the border in order to avoid any further confrontation and also to work out a solution based on the earlier understanding reached between the two State Governments.

To hold bilateral meeting at the sub-divisional level between the SDOs concerned every month was another point agreed by the two DCs.
Notably, along with deployment of IRB at Paomata, Senapati district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC at Tungjoy as precautionary measures.
