'People working in field of culture deprived of basic facilities'

Though culture is the mirror of the State, people working in the field are deprived of basic facilities and encouragement which is unfortunate, said National Awardee Makhonmani Mongsaba during the concluding day of the 30-day workshop on Manipuri Classical Drama organized by Linda Folk & Classical Academy at JN Manipur Dance Academy here today.
Speaking on the occasion as guest of honor, Mongaba conceded that there has been an immense respect and discipline amongst students and teachers of dance and Thang-Ta which is a good sign.
Emphasizing on the need for flourishing culture of the State across the world, he asserted that people working in the field of culture deserve recognition and proper facilities.
He noted than classical dance of the State is widely recognized throughout the world for its appealing style and essence.
A Tombi, Pradhan Guru of JN Manipur Dance Academy and N Tiken, member of North East Zone Cultural Centre were also present at the occasion as chief guest and president respectively.
As part of the programme, cultural dances were presented by artistes who took part in the month-long workshop.
