Imphal, August 14 2013:
In what could be termed as lack of civic sense, two newly installed dustbins at Khwairamband Keithel Ema Keithel were found stolen today.
Altogether 103 dustbins were installed by volunteers of Kanglei Economic Development Organization (KEDO) and women vendors of Khwairamband Ema Keithel in and around the three women's market complexes yesterday under the sponsorship of Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai.
Talking to media persons about the loss of dustbins, a woman vendor of Ema Keithel said that the dustbins have been marked as "Use Me" for people to throw their litters.
The dustbins were installed just yesterday with the objective of keeping Ema Keithel neat and clean.
The act of stealing dustbins kept for public use shows the "uncivilized" nature of the person(s) involved.
She further appealed to all to have good civic sense and avoid such incidents in the future.
