Jiri BJP submits memo to CS

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mandal Committee, Jiribam submitted a 16-point memorandum regarding the grievances of the people living in Jiribam sub-division of Imphal East district to the Chief Secretary of the State through the ADC, Jiribam on Monday.
Disclosing this at a press conference held at the office of BJP Mandal Committee, Jiribam here today, P.Rakeshwar Singha, President of Jiribam BJP Mandal Committee, said Jiribam sub division has been lagging behind in all respects in spite of its inclusion in the jurisdiction of Imphal East district.
Expressing the need to pay attention to Education, Health, Transport and communication sector in Jirbam, he pointed out that authority concerned will be requested to install a Community Radio Station (C.R.S) in the sub-division.

Informing that out of the 50% of the NREGA fund for Jiribam allotted through the Panchayat, 20% is meant for intermediate use while 30% is utilised by the local MLA, Gen.
Secy of Jiribam BJP Mandal Committee Mutum Nilamani Singh demanded a white paper on the 30% fund being utilised by local MLA.
M.Nilmani Singh, Ex-worker & Sympathiser of Jiribam BJP Mandal Committee, reiterated that Jiribam should be made a full revenue district at the earliest.
Terming the current students' agitation for posting of teachers as reasonable, he lamented that Jiribam has now only 3000 household ration cards while it should be 7000 .
He enquired about the remaining 4000 ration cards and informed that in spite of repeated appraisal to concerned authority, no concrete action has been taken.
Vice Presidents of Jiribam BJP Mandal Committee Kh.Haridas Singh and P.K.Das were also present during the press conference.
