Meeting discusses healthcare facilities in Tamenglong

To discuss issues relating to health facilities in Tamenglong, a meeting was convened today with the members of All Inpui Students' Union (AISU); Liangmei Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR); Rongmei Naga Students' Union, Manipur (RNSOM) and Zeme Students' Organisation Manipur (ZSOM) in the presence of DGP, Manipur, LM Khaute in his office.
A joint statement issued by AISU, LNKR, RNSOM, ZSOM; V Vumlunmang, Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare; Dr K Rajo Singh, Director, Health Services, Manipur and Dr Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Health Director said that the number of doctors and specialists posted in Tamenglong/Noney district were discussed during the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by Principal Secretary (Health), Director (Health) and other officials of Health Department.
Saying that the importance of posting core clinical specialists like a paediatrician, general physician, surgeon, anaesthetist, gynaecologist etc in District Hospital Tengnoupal was also noted during the meeting, the joint statement continued that the Health Department assured to post the above specialists at the earliest.
The meeting also agreed to post a paediatrician and gynaecologist at CHC Nungba, it added.
Continuing that the Health Department also assured to look into other requirements regarding healthcare facilities and manpower suggested by the student's bodies, it added both sides agreed to review the progress in 2 week time.
