MSF mourns death of its vice president, locals demand justice

Imphal, June 26 2018:
Demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the hit and run case in front of ISBT, Chingmeirong, Imphal on June 22, locals of Khurai Thongam Leikai staged a sit-in-protest at Khurai Thongam Leikai, Imphal.
MSF vice president, Ningthoujam Jugeshwar (Tangou) of Khurai Thongam Leikai succumbed to his injuries while MSF joint secretary Elangbam Anand sustained grievous injury in the after the accident.
On the other hand, mourning the death of its vice president, MSF half mast its flag today.
It also demanded the arrest of the culprits involved in the hit-and-run case.
Speaking to media persons at the protest site, one of the protester stated that Jugeshwar succumbed to his injuries yesterday after he was hospitalized at Raj Medicity, North AOC, Imphal.
Both of them was knocked down by a car on June 22 15 in front of ISBT, Chingmeirong, the protester added.
Families and locals of Jugeshwar has decided not to claim the body until the persons involved in the killings of the MSF vice president is arrested and served fitting punished.
Meanwhile, MSF president Ng Milan conveyed that executive members and volunteers of MSF held a condolence meeting at the office of the students' organization at Keishampat today.
He then demanded the Government and authorities concerned to produce the culprits while expressing suspicion that the accident was a pre-planned attempt.
MSF president alleged that the organisation received information that the car, which hit the vehicle rode by Jugeshwar and Anand, was following them.
Maintaining that Anand is a local of Laipham Khunou, Imphal East, Milan informed that the former is still hospitalized at Raj Medicity.
